THE PASSIVE VOICES
* Türkçe karşılığı “edilgen çatı”dır.
* Cümlenin öznesi daima edilgen durumdadır, eylemden etkilenir.
* Bir eylemi edilgen yapabilmek için kullanacağımız fiilin (break, make, sell, eat, prepare) gibi geçişli bir fiil olması gerekir.
A= [Our neighbours’ children broke our window]
P= [Our window was broken by our neighbours’ children]

1) FORMİNG THE PASSİVE [EDİLGEN YAPILMASI]
Active fiilin nesnesi, Passive cümlede özne durumuna geçer ve cümledeki tense’e göre “BE + PAST / P. PARTİCİPLE” kullanılır.
A= [They are painting the car]
P= [The car is being painted by them]

A=[Finally, the rescue team found the lost climbers]
P= [Finally, the lost climbers were found by the rescue team]

A= [The storm damaged all the buildings in our city]
P= [All the buildings in our city were damaged by the storm]

A=[My uncle has just enrolled Jack in evening classes]
P= [Jack has just been enrolled in evening classes by my uncle]

2) “ BY PHRASE ” IN PASSIVE VOICES [EDİLGEN ÇATIDA “ BY PHRASE ”]
* Edilgen cümlede eylemi yapan kişi “by phrase” ile belirtilir]
A= [The manager dismissed Ann for her inefficiency]
P= [Ann was dismissed for her inefficiency by the manager]

3) TENSES IN PASSIVE VOICES [EDİLGEN ÇATIDA ZAMANLAR]
# Simple Present :
A= [My mother prepares the breakfast]
P= [The breakfast is prepared by my mother]
# Present Contınuous Ve Be Going To :
A= [My mother is preparing the breakfast]
P= [The breakfast is being prepared by my mother]
# Simple Past :
A= [My mother prepared the breakfast]
P= [The breakfast was prepared by my mother]
# Past Contınuous :
A= [My mother was preparing the breakfast]
P= [The breakfast was being prepared by my mother]
# Present Perfect :
A= [My mother has prepared the breakfast]
P= [The breakfast has been prepared by my mother]
# Past Perfect :
A= [My mother had prepared the breakfast]
P= [The breakfast had been prepared by my mother]
# Simple Future :
A= [My mother will prepare the breakfast]
P= [The breakfast will be prepared by my mother]
Future Perfect :

*** Diğer Tense’ler Passive Voices’ta kullanılmaz ***
